Sensible options for a daily-use wrist watch

I love watches, and almost spend the same amount in my audio gear to my watch collection. Saying that sometimes an Ikepod or a Brietling Cronograph are bulky and notorious for daily use. What options are out there for a reliable, not pretentious daily use wrist watch to use with business attire from your perspective?

My daily wear are my trusty Oris watches. Great value for money and real tough. Because of these my Omega, Cartier, and IWCs usually take a back seat unless a dressy occassion comes along.

My TAG is my knock around watch :)

Oris and Tag are very good options, I remember buying an Oris some years back at a very good price, a 25 jewells with back skeleton view, also had a Quartz Tag bought in Saint Marteen during my honey moon.

Quartz Tag Kirium Mechanical Chrono has been my bruiser watch for more than 10 years. I think I've changed the battery only once or twice. Looks small in this age of 42mms but when I have to run I just love that I don't have to set and shake.

I ended up buying a Bell & Ross Vintage watch, not calls to much for attention and big dials, confortable and classy.

You can pick a simple, small, unpretentious model from Patek Philippe's calatrava collection. I think they go well with business attires. The older Blancpain models would also go well wiht business attires.

mullard88 - The Calatrava IS my ultimate goal as for simple, small and "unpretentious" watch - even the steel model is a work of art - but my wallet refuses to generate the cash necessary to make that step :)

In the meantime I bought this in lLas Vegas some years back, it follows the same design approach.

Hi flez007,

Be patient, give yourself more time and your wallet will figure out a way.

Here is a pic if the Calatrava, a very elegant design....

For some reason I think this thread took another direction :)

My everyday watch for the past 25 years has been this one - note date and time :D I couldn't find a picture online.

Like my hifi, my watches don't change often. My grandfather told me "we are too poor to buy cheap things that don't last".

I've taken a shine to my IWC Portuguese Yacht Club

The irony is, I'm a land lubber. I easily get sea sick.

They are quite reasonably priced. I was rather surprised myself.
