I was going to get a basic cellphone now that I'm retired and don't need to be constantly connected, but Bell gave me such a good deal to keep me on that I picked up the new Galaxy Alpha. What a sweet phone! :D. And now that the CRTC (government regulatory agency) in Canada mandated providers to do away with 3-yr contracts for 2-yr terms it's even better, plus the phone was a free upgrade.

Have a read through the review and check out an actual unit...you might like it as well.

If you ever get the chance to try using your phone to stream music via Bluetooth, you will find that it trounces many, many out that and may even get you to revisit your audiophile sensibilities about wireless music streaming. The Galaxy Alpha (and many of the Samsung phones) incorporates APTX technology - and with a compatible receiver (like the brilliant sounding Roksan Oxygene) you might wonder why you ever bothered with expensive interconnects!!

I suppose that eventually I will go that route, at least in part and to find out what it's all about, but right now I have too many other things on the go, and the interest is really not there yet.

The predictive text on this phone is head and shoulders above the one from the Note1, which is a huge bonus for me. And although the battery is smaller I'm getting 2.5/3 days without a charge and that is just fine. Of course I'm no longer a power user like before, but still. Picture quality is very nice as well. So far I haven't come across any negatives yet. I'm very happy with this phone. :)

I just bought the Samsung galaxy A 5 , 2016 version nice Phone , dont see a reason spending more on the S 7 or a i Phone , it has 4G + internetspeed and works fine and fast.
Only big plus i see for an S 7 or i Phone , is that there are much more accessoires for them , Phone covers and what not
