One of the best sounds at RMAF 2013 was the Tannoy Kingdom Royals driven by VAC. Tannoy, it seems like has been around the dinosaur age of high end audio, and these are some of their top speakers. Yet, these are not part of the conversation among the media, and are rare in the audiophile community.
All I know is after hearing the Kingdom Royals under show that guys who have a taste for gear that sounds like, and captures emotions of music, rather than gear that reproduces sound would like this speaker.
Is there something wrong with the design? Is Tannoy not marketed well? Does their sonic signature not fit the current fad of high resolution/ clean sound, and is being ignored? Are folks lacking imagination to try this brand?
