Did you really have to do this to me :D Enjoy it, I've had the straight 21 and it's superb; two weeks ago I had the Yamazaki 18 and the smell of fine wine was all over it. Great stuff! And I couldn't find any at Heathrow last week... UGH! Gotta fly to Dubai next time...

If I remember correctly 7/8 years ago I bought a Yamazaki 18 years for about USD120 . Today the same whisky will cost abt 50k yen = USD450 at narita airport

Thank God the Scotts are around. Yammie 18 is really good but IMO not $450 good.

The Karuizawa Noh 23 pops off at 128 proof... a little splash of water really opens up the aromatics and exposes out a delicious swarm of secondary and tertiary flavors. Otherwise the heat neat just brings tears to my eyes.

This was the best Japanese whisky I ever had: NIKKA coffey grain. Just beautifuly rich, mellow and sweet. To put this in some perspective, I love plain Talisker 10 y.o.
