Sub compact SUVs, Kia Soul, what fun.

We leased a 2015 Kia Soul for the RMAF last week and fell in love with it. Now we are thinking about one for an around town and short trip car. It has quick get up and go, and is really quiet on the road. The window skirts are low so you can put your arm on them, the foot wells are deep and the ride is sorta firm. The best thing is the road feedback through the wheel.

Anyone here play in this market segment?

Kia certainly has the cool factor with that. When I read review of it a few years ago, it said the suspension bottomed out quickly and hard. Have they fixed that?

They did a redo for 2014, the suspension was fine in the one we had.

When the Pope visited Korea earlier this year, he wanted an unassuming vehicle instead of the usual bullet proof limo. Kia supplied him two Souls. Guess he liked the car. After the visit, Kia donated them to the Catholic church. Don't know if the Pope took one to Vatican but it was in the news and Kia got bunch of publicity.

Last week when I was in Seoul, one of the local newspapers said Kia Soul is selling like a hotcake in Europe from the Pope visit story.
