I would not be surprised if it was a dramatic device used by the director. If this is a movie about the same guy I saw in a documentary, the sniper with the most recorded kills in history, in that film he was taking down targets like a kid in a carnival shooting gallery.

you are correct. In Israel's'á'rmy you do not need that confirmation. it's the shooter's call

This modern trend of having to relay over radio what you see and ask for permission to do something is an example of NOT trusting your army of one person. I am totally against it and it is obscene IMO. I could not be told when to fire on any body when I was placing my own life on the line for my so called "country" or corporation USA.
