Funny how Porsche's and hi end audio make great bed fellows. I need to be careful here, Ethan may chime in suggesting a VW GTI provides the same level of performance.

That GTS was an impressive car as is your current 991. I take it you love it ?

I love em both. The GTS, the steering, the way you could hear the gears and engine working in combo, plus some aspects of the wide track rear wheel only drive I liked. Now the C4S is much more comfy (plus I went from adaptive sport seats to the regular seats with ventilation) with out giving much sportiness. The wider track and all wheel drive, this car really grips the road...Atlas Gray, black wheels and a glass sunroof...it's a "pretty" car...

I have a 996 GT3 with most of the RS mods...raw car, not so much comfort on the street hence I am getting rid of it for this new GT3. I had an allocation for the new 2015 RS which won't be announced until Match with first deliveries in November 2015. The car will be a bit faster and stiffer do to weight reduction amongst a bigger arrest me rear spoiler. It will probably be 30-40k more for base price before the Porsche nickel and dime options kick into place. I wanted more comfort on the street, have more comfort features for $50k less....my estimate, so that was the best decision for me.

I can relate to that.
Does seem amusing one has to pay more for a car that actually has much less inside it (RS model) :)
But then I think it is a homologation model for a professional racing car, and does have I think that subtle different chassis to GT3 standard model.

Cheers

I do wonder if the RS will have rear wheel steering. It is not allowed for the race cars...GT Cup or RSR, which could indicate that the RS street car homologated will not have it. That will put it at a handling disadvantage compared to the standard GT3. That said the bigger rear wing of the RS should provide additional rear downforce minimizing the gain on rear wheel steering. This is of course speculation on my part.

2013 991 C4S here. Simply an awesome car. Wife & I did a 3500 mile roadtrip this summer to visit the west coast national parks / monuments. Pulling 1G through corners w/o the wife giving me the death look, getting 28+ mpg, and never a complaint about comfort. It really is an engineering work of art.

I've settled on the black wheels as well!! A little too glossy IMO but hoping some brake dust will do the trick :). Locking build will help end the madness! I've got until 10/24 so plenty more waffling for me. Lol.

The dust dulls them quick from my experience with my Cayenne GTS 21" gloss black.

Sweet

Love the GT3. It's not in the cards for me unfortunately. Congrats on the new toy!

I'd play a little cat and mouse with you anyway though. Don't let the stick axle fool you ;)

Yup, no stick...manual paddles or sports auto. It will allow for better focus on line and braking (when on the track) and remove the complication of heel toe rev matching for downshifts. The net being, I will be way faster for track days. I had 11 years with my 2004 GT3 manual shift.

In all seriousness, I congratulate you for being able to afford this...and I truly mean that. There is no doubt you have earned it, so more power to you.

However......GREY? Seems a little bland. You took away the sexy! :p

My old one is grey...this is silver...Silver happens to be the official racing color for Germany as Ferrari red is to Italy and Racing green to UK. 60% of this car has been ordered in White, which I like, Red looks great but attracts too much attention as does racing yellow. I don't like attracting attention, hence the lower key color that does not show dirt.
old car on the race track (2004 GT3):

PS as far as expense goes, with my trade, this car cost me as much as my Odin cabling....makes you wonder what's the better value...lol

Nice ! This car should be here in a couple weeks. It arrives at Davisville RI port on 1/3. I may only have her for six months as I want the RS GT3 due to be officially announced in March. My dealer says I will have an allocation...they will be rare in numbers. Bigger wing, 4.0 vs 3.8 motor bigger 345 21" rear tires/wheels in the back and lighter. Probably 510 naturally aspirated HP. RS Mule in winter testing.
