How would anyone know the difference between a 'high quality' U2 release and lossy MP3?
Excellent question. I don't know what bit rate this MP3 is or how effective/transparent it is (and I'd bet the writer of this article doesn't either), but given U2's typical mastering quality, it probably doesn't matter. If the audiophile world wants to advocate for lossless, which is a great idea, they should choose better examples to bitch about. They should make a serious case, unless they're really enjoying not being taken seriously.
