Back before my time, stacking speakers were a bit of a fad. Imagine my surprise when I saw this!
They look like Matrix 3s.

Wow, that's an amazing 'stack' all right, Jack. I had them 801-S3s in the early 90s but I never imagined this could have been achieved. :D I'm imagining what kind of a bracket support from behind are or that poor tweeter below is going to take the huge burden of the entire weight of the top 801s.

Wow...did you hear this? How did get stack them so they don't fall? How did they sound?

Hi,

this a 801F no Bassreflex,stacking sounds good cylindrical wave ;)
it is same at B&W 800 matrix less room modes and standing waves.

Do you mean Matrix 800's? As far as I remember the Matrix 3 was a conventional box speaker using the matrix box.

I owned both the 801F and the 801 series 3 in the 90's and recently hosted the Series 3 for a few days. It is mandatory to have the crossover upgraded - it is filled with bipolar electrolytic capacitors that are now dry.

Yes thats good Way to pimp the 801F Xover DC-Protection and Subsonic Filter is really bad sounding..
I had made this for Friends by 801F,Matrix 3/II with Mundorf Supreme;PBH Resistors and Copperfoil Inductors.
Nice B&W 800 my Cousin has they in White ;)

I meant 801s (which they are, I just wasn't sure which ones), Jadis owned 800s in the past as do two other friends of mine presently.
