I think there is something special about enjoying the simplest things in life. Some noodles. Some broth. A few other optional tidbits. Thousand ways to screw it up. But when it is right, it clicks and becomes more than a meal.

While not that great of a movie, if you are into Ramen, some of the above exists in the Ramen Girl: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0806165/

That is awesome with Ramen, but I've never found a restaurant that served it. My wife makes a mean Tom Kha Gai, and we routinely use it as the Ramen stock.

Could I become a fly sitting on her shirt pocket when she makes the next batch? :)

Tampopo is the bomb! The drunken shrimp scene had me rolling on the floor.

You have outdone yourself with that video Gary!

Reminds me of how skilled Japanese videographers are with food. Super close up shots. Slow motion. And in this case, noodles under microscope!

My wife says, and I might agree, the egg is IT!

For me, my wife perfected the egg. I don't know how many eggs she went through, but when I returned from one particularly long business trip to Europe, she had the perfect Ramen egg for me.
