Hi to all,

Im lucky to have acquired this new cartridge to replace my aging Koetsu Rosewood STD. The choice was between the Lyra Kleos and the Benz Micro Gullwing SLR. I opted to get the Gullwing. The Kleos is readily available and according to some audio website Benz Micro cartridges are hard to come by because of the scaling down of production.

The Benz SLR is an excellent cartridge. I believe it is a LPS MR in everything except body. How does it compare to your old Koetsu? Unfortunately, Benz is basically out of biz; my dealer has gone completely over to Lyra.

Ive only set it up today and I heard it only for 2 hours,it sounds more detailed than the Koetsu w/ a tighter bass. I cant comment much until the cart has completed loosen up (break in)

Very nice choice! I used one for over a year and really liked it a lot. Had the Kleos here at the same time and liked the Gullwing more. Also had Benz LP and LPSmr at the same time for a short while. Give it 40-50 hours of play time, it gets better.

Thanks TRH for the advise regarding what to expect after the break in period. My friends & I were able to adjust the VTA/SRA of the cartridge to 92 degrees using a digital microscope and the downloaded programm from the Analog Planet website and the sound improved a lot more .
