i had the heavier weight from SME for the V and never had an issue. I tried other options but liked the sound smiths mainly for ease of use.

That works too. Though the choice of screw/weight can degrade the sound. IIRC, and I'm up in Cooperstown this weekend and don't have access to the info, the brass screws are the heaviest. Too heavy in my system killed the sound of the Atlas. Did you by any chance try the lighter weights? It's easy to do. Just unscrew one at a time and swap them out. Then just reset your VTF.

You could very well be right. In fact I tried an Atlas with the same setup and the Koetsu was better to me. So damn sweet yet detailed love at first listen. The reason I posted the picture is because I also took the first picture that started the thread. Thought the owner would like another pix of what I think is a very beautiful and unique work of art. The Coralstone hell any of the stone bodies for that matter.
I did try the lighter ones. I think aluminum and plastic and couldn't hear the difference. My vote for why the show system was so good would be the Doshi Phono pre. The koetsu Doshi combo is divine.
