I have a 1000SDR that I received ( free ) that still works, however, that said. A dealer took it in about 10 yrs ago for repair as the cd stopped spinning. Being an older unit, they opened it up and replaced the broken band and put it back together. Now the interesting thing, it spins but no sound comes out, even though it still is tracking the cd as far as the display goes. Since I picked this up, 3rd hand, and I know Spectral would not look at it ( being worked on by someone else ) is this piece, worth sending away to be looked at, and, are there any upgrades that maybe used to update this ?

Don't be shy: contact Spectral! One question I cannot answer: is it worth sending it away? If you liked the sound and did not get the "itch" to upgrade, it probably is worth it. Good luck!

I second nirodha - I would contact Spectral first anyway.
