The originally circulating bunch of Betty Boards was played back on a Technics 1506 and copied onto (at least one of each) reels, Beta HiFi and PCM digital (using a Sony PCM convertor) on both VHS and Beta cassettes. This was done in two separate sessions and the recordings have circulated since 1986 and are well catalogued. The second bunch includes the Academy of Music '72 shows; this bunch was "restored" by Rob Eaton, copied to DAT and those DATs given to the Grateful Dead and to the caretakers of Garcia's estate (lots of them were of Garcia solo projects). Rob Eaton and Betty were paid for the work done in the transferring as well as for promising not to distribute the music from these into trading circles. The third batch referenced in the Relix article is new.
