Hello,
New to What's Best and DRC
I am thinking of adding Dirac Live to my system for DRC.
Apart from DRC I would like something that will handle per-channel crossover as I have recently moved from an all bookshelf 5.1 setup and got floor standing fronts (Quadral M50).
My current receiver does not support a separate crossover for the fronts so I thought that if I'm already going the HTPC DRC route (the HTPC is my source for 90% of the time) I might as well have the HTPC handle the per channel crossover settings instead of buying a new receiver.
Although I listen to stereo most of the time (2.1 ch. with heavy bass ) I do listen to enough 5.1 materials (Music & Movies) so that the crossover should handle both listening modes and route signal to the sub from all channels (like a normal receiver does).
Can Dirac Live MCH handle this?
Or if not, perhaps you could recommend something that will handle crossover and work with Dirac?
Current setup -
HTPC --HDMI--> Receiver |-- Front ch. Analog pre-outs--> Power Amp --> Fronts
|-- Internal Amp --> Surrounds (Center + Back)
|-- LFE Analog pre-out--> DSPeaker 8033 --> Subwoofer
|-- HDMI Video Out --> TV
I guess that for the HTPC to handle the crossover I would need to move the audio input from HDMI to the receiver's analog m.ch inputs (everything else stay the same) -
HTPC --Analog M.CH outs--> Receiver
Thank you,
Ron
