Jeffrey,
I'm confused by your question.
The Cello Palette and Palette Preamplifier (two different products) are "high level" preamplifiers, each having 6-band, variable, "program" equalization (EQ). From a gain perspective, maybe the better term for them are "line stages" with variable EQ. Max gain for them is around 20dB (switchable). You feed them with and they output "line level" signals - in the neighborhood of 1 volt.
My K/C is a low level preamp with switchable 40 or 50 or 60db of gain and "fixed" RIAA, NAB and IEC equalization. You feed it directly from a phono cartridge or tape head (requiring a lot of gain to get their "millivolt-level signals" up to the "1 volt line/high level".
