Since there is interest in physics, I thought I post more videos in that field. Here is a cool, fast paced video on why the sky is dark. It is a pretty advanced explanation but if you keep up with it, it should make sense:

Mmmm, I was sure that it had to do with the Sun, and the Earth's own position in relation to it. ...Gravitational movement and the dark shadow (dark side), of the night.

My simple answer to this question would be this. Lumens. While there are an infinite amount of stars around us, what we see [in terms of light is history]. As they move away and as far away from us as they all are, relative to our sun, they simply do not have the amount of lumens to light up our neighborhood of the universe and make the sky appear well lit.
