EMI/Polyeast Philippines has just opened up for Pre-release 3 LPs of two Filipino acts, one from rock band Bamboo and two (one all Englishn one all Filipino language) from singer Martin Nievera. The LPs were pressed at a yet unknown pressing plant in Europe. The LPs will be made available to the general public through various retail outlets.

This is to my knowledge the first release in LP of major Filipino acts from a major label in over 20 years.

Nice :D

Here in Brazil, an old pressing plant was reactived a few years ago. But unfortunately, a lot of the mastering gear (analog) is busted, so they're using digital masters. The folks that own the plant actually made a video to announce the plant opening, where they let out a section where you can clearly see a Discman (!!) playing the album that's supposed to be pressed to vinyl, which makes one wonder the provenance of their vinyl...

So now only the major labels are releasing vinyl through this plant, with reissues from "classic" 70s/80s albums, and most of the new vinyl coming out from brazilian artists are actually not made here...

Just be careful if they release a cover version of 'My Way.' :)
