It appears that Boulder has advanced their sound greatly, at least as it is conveyed in the jays videos.no more is it whitewashed and sterile. the boulders are musical, tone correct and dynamic.... I’m impressed!

It was always so.
Where did your impression of whitewashed and sterile originate?
My 2060 was built over a decade ago, and embodies effortless musicality, natural timbre and dynamics. It's why i adore the marque

IB-After many visits to ces over the years...... this is not a criticism , but an observation.
Good for you, glad you are enjoying them, as you should.
Thought that the sound of the 2150s ,on Jay's audio lab , thru focal headphones ,was amazing.

Probably Ozy was referred to a previous video poster by Jay sentenced the Boulder 1060 as "One of the worst amplifier tried".
He pointed the finger on the lack of character and personality of the amp, without soul...
I'm surprised of that negative review.

Actually i didn't hear jay's 1060 bashings... i only went from memory of some of the systems i heard a while back at ces shows in which the previous 2000 series were playing. but the newer 2150 and 2110 are something else!

He has posted SEVERAL great recordings on his system. Just make sure you are listening to the ones where he has the Boulder 3050 monos in...he has earlier videos with different amps, and I think so far the Boulder 3050 has made a transformational difference.

I have the same experience as Ozy. The previous Boulders just never hit me as good, but the current series is a different story altogether.

Happy New Year 2021 !!!
