Here's looking forward to hearing about the new 2100 Series components and the likely retirement of the fabulous 2000 Series which has set a incredibly high level for years!!!!

Cheers,

Wow, is there a 2108 n the works too? What about the 3000 series? Information of a 3010 has been circulating already.

I suspect that we will not see a 3010 Preamp until Herr Nelson has decided that he has a product ready to blow away the 2010 and even trump the 2110......by what I have heard the improvements from the 2050 to the 3050 are so far beyond belief that Boulder will want to be sure that the improvements from the 2010 to the 3010 are equally stunning.....just a thought. I am very sure that at some point we will see a complete 3000 Series (amps/preamps/sources, etc)....but not until Jeff Nelson feels it is ready to happen, which is a philosophy I approve of!!

Wizard,

It would be great if you put a link to your blog on your signature so we could zip to it in an instant. Just a thought. :)

Nice AMP!!! Congrats! When do they arrive? Any comments about how they sound?

I've known about them since the first of the year which is why I elected not to purchase the 2010 and 2060 at the time.

I'm not 100% sure when the actual first production run of the 2110 will start, but I will have one of the units out of that run. I'm hoping within 4 weeks, but Boulder won't ship something as an actual product until they are 100% happy with it so there may be an unforeseen delay.

The 2160 doesn't exist yet and, in fact, I had to return Boulder's 2060 demo unit to them last week so that they could use it in testing 2160 sub-assemblies. I'm hoping to see the 2160 sometime in the mid to late fall timeframe.

Both products, although an evolution of their predecessors, are complete re-designs from the ground up. In the case of the 2110 the only common parts with the 2010 are the front panel buttons and the volume control disc (the machined parts, the electronic components they actuate are new).

No idea as to how they sound, but based on my experience with Boulder to date I'm confident that they will sound wonderful.

Here's some food for thought....

The 2000 series has been in continuous production for 17 years with no revisions and is still considered by many to be the absolute state-of-the-art in design and sound quality. The 2100 series needs to show some major improvements in order to top that.

This is the first time that Boulder has released a new product which has directly replaced an older product in their line. Over the years they've released a lot of products at different price points, but have never replaced a line with a newer one.

In a world of "flavor of the month" reviews and bi-annual product revisions Boulder's commitment to their designs is a true rarity.

Release dates:

2110 and 2150 - September 2013
2160 - November 2013
2120 - CES 2014

Any news on a 2108 phono stage release date? I heard a 1008 the other day vs a ARC Ref 2SE phono. I was very impressed with the Boulder phono stage....and posted some detail comments in a boulder 1008 thread...

There will be a 2108, but there is no planned release date yet. Last conversation on this topic that I had with Boulder was in January and at that time they had a number of other products in line before the 2108. Based on what has been released and announced to date I would be surprised if a 2108 showed up within the next 12 months.

Personally, not to thrilled with the change to white LEDs. At least they're dimmable on the 2110, but the spotlight from the 2160 staring back at me is going to be a bummer. Oh well, time to pull out another sheet of light dims.

Damn audiophiles.... always finding something to complain about :)

The thing to the right of the 2150 is a 3160 or 3150? It is huge. Makes the big 2150 look tiny!

Great photos, Wilzard...Thanks!!! I saw that Cuong Pham on Audiogon just got similar Kharma Exquisite Grandes and is using Gryphon Pandora and Mephistos to drive them. His system had been very stable for years...SET amps with gigantic horns...a huge SOTA collection of turntables, Kondo electronics, etc...until he began looking for the next upgrade with a few new speaker/amp combinations...and it appears last I checked that he has settled on this combination.
