We are pleased to announce the re-release of one of Wilson Audiophile Definitive Recordings, Sonatas for Violin and Piano with David Abel and Julie Steinberg! The Absolute Sounds named this album one of the "Top 40 Best Sounding Recordings" (1973-2013)

In this interview, Dave Wilson talks about his memories and experiences recording this album using the "Ultramaster" (a Studer which was highly modified by John Curl).

Wilson Audio uses this album frequently for R&D because of the high sonic quality and characteristics, and Dave Wilson's familiarity with the album.

What reviewers have said about this album:

"This is perhaps the most exquisitely natural recording ever made. All in all, this Wilson record is a triumph of the analog LP recording art"
-International Audio Review

"Perhaps the most transcendent of David Wilson's brilliant recordings"
-Jim Hannon, The Absolute Sound, July/August 2013

It has become available on these sites so far:

Dear Debby,

I am an audiophile in Hong Kong.
All the Wilson Audiophile Recordings are gems! Re-release of them are long overdue for sure.

When I post a news on your announcement in a Hong Kong HiFi Forum, everybody are so excited :
CAS audiophiles would like the release to have DSD version.
Whereas die-hard LP & CD audiophiles want reissue of them in CD & LP formats too.
http://www3.hiendy.com/hififorum/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=57197&extra=page=1

I am sure if there are DSD files, CD reissues & LP reissues, they will be sold out in just a few days!
There are so many Wilson Audio fans in Hong Kong & Mainland China.

We sincerely would like you to consider our requests.
Many many thanks in advance!

Peter

2.After you purchase the album, send me an email at debby@wilsonaudio.com with your full name, the album you purchased (if you buy more than 1; state the albums of all albums you bought, and I will put you in the drawing for that many), and from which DSP.

Monday (Aug. 11th, 2014), we will announce the 3 winners, and we will give away a total of 3 UNOPENED Wilson Audiophile albums (in LP or CD) from Dave and Sheryl's private collection that they have saved for many years! :)

I downloaded the two Hyperion Knight recordings from Acoustic Sounds in DSD over the past few days. The "Music of Chopin" performance is absolutely beautiful with the right amounts of power and grace. The recording quality is first rate! Highly recommended for lovers of Chopin's sonatas and Polonaise.

I've only listened to the Beethoven Piano Sonata 21, "Waldstein" , thus far from the second recording. This is a fine interpretation / playing and again the recording is among the best piano recordings I've ever heard. Rich, beautiful tone. The liner notes suggest the piano used has a lower register more powerful than a Bosendorfer Imperial. I've heard a Bosendorfer once here in Dallas when, if I remember correctly, Emmanuel Ax performed Brahms piano Concerto #2. Jury still out on this claim but the bass register is certainly powerful in the recording! Very happy with this one too.

They sound great on Alexia!
