Does anyone want to talk about good table wines, say in the 10-30 dollar range?

I'd swear I tried to start this discussion yesterday, but it appears that I imagined that.

Just so it's not going to look like I'm shilling for anything, I'll let others make the recommendations.

After my wife banned the 3 buck chuck, I went on an extensive quest for "table wine" in the $10-$15 range. I tried many. For white, I settled on Alamos Chardonney (Mendoza, Argentine, $8-$9), and for red the J.Lohr Paso Robles Cabernet (California, $$13-$15). The 7 deadly Zins (Zinfandel, $13), is also a very nice red.

I've always been partial to Ferrari-Carano Chardonnay that runs today around $25/bottle. When I discovered it, thanks to Eric Asimov's Under $10 wines column in the Wednesday NY Times probably some 20 years ago, the Chardonnay cost $8/bottle. That was a total steal. Very smooth, fruity flavor. Could drink a bottle of it alone with no problem :)

I don't like table wines as I prefer ceiling wines in rooms with 9' ceilings. That way I can't reach them and don't have to drink them.

Myles, that's not restricted to the Jewish faith. I've got two daughters, 20 and 23. It's not Miaaammeeeeeee, but I still hear Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaddddddd! more often than not.

Oh, and ETA: My red table wine is Bookwalter's "Notebook". I thought I said that once before but it vanished. I personally don't have a favorite white, though. CMS is pretty good, though.
