“A really efficient totalitarian state would be one in which the all-powerful executive of political bosses and their army of managers control a population of slaves who do not have to be coerced, because they love their servitude.”

Aldous Huxley

That love of servitude is the true mastering of higher living. It is the executives who serve, are the servants of the servitors. Without the servitors there are no executives. - Bob (me)

Some perspective on the 'trade war with China' from Paul Craig Roberts :

When are America’s global corporations and Wall Street going to sit down with President Trump and explain to him that his trade war is not with China but with them? The biggest chunk of America’s trade deficit with China is the offshored production of America’s global corporations. When the corporations bring the products that they produce in China to the US consumer market, the products are classified as imports from China.

Richard I am glad you participate in this fascinating thread on the stock market in its present situation.

Your statement is so utterly incorrect I honestly find it laughable. The press in the US has never been more free or more powerful. The free press and whistleblowers uncovered and shared the child separations at the border.

Trump might be attacking the free press, but he has had zero success. Readership of news papers (WSJ, Washington Post, NY Times, etc always) have never been higher.

Erosion of our Democracy is a slow and insidious thing, like watching termites take a house down. Eventually it falls unless the infestation is eliminated. We have an infestation.

This all started with the Nixon administration. Remember when Nixon went to China? A deal was struck that China would be industrialized and The Wall Street Big banks ie Chase,Morgan,Goldman would develop the Chinese financial system. This was Engineered by C. Douglas Dillon, Paul Volcker and Watson of IBM,among many other top Executives and the Federal Reserve. The financial part was financed with help from the US ExIm Bank,World Bank and IMF.
This is why Nixon closed the Gold window and the war on the US dollar had begun through massive devaluations that led to the destruction of America’s manufacturing base and a stagflation for two generations

Well, it looks like the market completed a 3 wave counter trend bounce at EOD Friday. How bearish? Well down to the pattern lows at the least....worst, 1987 comes to mind, as the fractal patterns in both tops are very similar. Both are 5,3,3,5’s... hope that first drop in Febuary is a “A” and not a 1....

Money is only for fun, it's for playing.

Real life is people happy, nature and man getting along.

If we can be free of money we are winning investors. Invest in true happiness, play with your money; @ the casinos, in the stock market, buy toys...all type of fun toys, have fun first and worry later after death.
Life's too short to be worry about money.

Follow your instinct, what works best, if it's money there's plenty of it in the world, if it's gold that too, if it's oil, the same, if it's Disneyland...they have children parks, tours, movies, cruises, ...all that fun stuff.
Live to the extreme with your family and friends, with your surroundings, don't count on the stock market or anyone else than yourself. Do what you like to do, don't be a slave. There is plenty to be happy about.

And fight for your rights, for the rights of people, for humanity and our planet.
Invest in the stock market for the good times, follow the money.
Don't stress, ever, always relax.
Money can buy you love...

Be positive, optimistic, realistic, live in simplicity, in complicity, in intimacy, in love with real life and real happy people who don't stress but relax and truly enjoy life for what it truly is. And never be stuck with your stocks, stick to the real life values with an expanding mind, peace, freedom.

Freedom is to live happy with everyone, with no enemies. If money can do that, that's good, make it work right.

To me independence is not a solitary state, it's a universal share.
Independence of the entire planet with the 7.65 billion people living on it.

Alright, the economy is doing just great; someone musk be responsible.
On the stock market Tesla shares got a nice boost after the tent stunt helping the Model 3 to reach its target number of 5,000 cars by the end of June...in only one month! Bravo Musk!
https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/amphtml/news/tesla-spikes-hitting-model-3-131400035.html

Investor's confidence is coming back, shares value is going up, analyst's predictions need readjustments, Elon Musk can show the world a thing or two about who he is and what he can do.

All is good under the big tent in California, cars are flying out, money is pouring from the sky, the world is changing for the better, for both humans and planet's health.

It's nice to have some good news in a world of so many bad news for the last couple years or so.
Working all together as a unified team we can make it work for everyone's happiness, with profits that benefit us all. Best to be optimistic than pessimistic; best to have some good stocks in our portfolio...Tesla, Apple, Disney, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon.

Let the good times roll. And let bitcoin meet its destiny with a big bang (crash).

Happy Canada Day and Happy Independence Day! Yahoooooooooo!
...Two great countries one powerful friendship. I just freekin' luv it! :b

Things are great for America Roger.

Investors are rejoicing, Tesla is solid, FIFA is good news, trades are improving, companies are expanding, money just keeps adding to my bank accounts, the world is friendlier, happier, healthier and wealthier.

No euphoria from my point of view, just a sane bill of reality check.
___

I'm going to Vegas this fall; I got extra cash I can invest in the casinos...good for fun, good for the American economy. All Canadians should travel to the USA and spend some money in the malls, pubs, hotels, merchandises, stereo and video equipment, jewelry and corn flakes.
I'm all for encouraging our neighbor friends and free trade.

And if you guys want to visit Lake Louise, Banff, Jasper and the Rockies, I will be your guide with the bears, the moose and the beavers.

It amuses me, America is like a giant amusement park, the stock market first.
___

Russia is the place to be right now; I bet their stock market is doing just fine, and Poutine is getting more cash in his bank accounts ...
