Mixing Sealed Speakers With Ported Subwoofers, Ported Speakers With Sealed Subwoofers

When I read these product suggestions I misunderstood the question. Wilson Audio Subsonic: control processor. Submerge and Lokie: DSP. Gobel Sovereign: DSP engine and control. Majico Titan: DSP Control Center. All the best with your search.

Sub Selection: How do I begin?

Despite what any speakers (including those with powered subwoofers) measured frequency response is they're positioned to optimize their sound stage which is typically in the middle of the rooms low frequency draining null. If your interested in reproducing the delicately articulate and airy...

    Should i surrender? Perlisten sub

Smart choice of -6dB ported sub-bass speakers for what looks to be a tight space. All the best.

Mixing Sealed Speakers With Ported Subwoofers, Ported Speakers With Sealed Subwoofers

If the DSP low frequency calibration tones are played through both your main speakers and properly positioned subwoofer/s simultaneously and the processing calibrates the subwoofer, any combination of sub and speaker should be excellent. The only exception may occur with -6dB sub-bass systems.

    JL Audio Fathom F112 v2

These subwoofers will do exactly what your asking for but probably not positioned right next to your speakers. If that's a great deal of room treatment you've listed it won't ameliorate the need for these subwoofers to be first integrated with the room prior to their integration with the...

    REL vs JL Audio subs

itay123, Reading your dissatisfied subwoofer descriptions I’m almost certain your subwoofer issues could have been easily remedied. Generally the bass mode locations can be along boundary walls which may not have met the household aesthetic. During your time with the Velodyne DD-18 Plus and...

REL No. 31 and other REL subwoofers: fuses and power cords?

I found a $9K REL Studio III Sub-Bass speaker quite forgiving to room placement. Its -6dB manufacturers rated low frequency response lacks the measurable sub sonic low frequency output of an actual subwoofer and simply didn't excite the rooms standing wave bass modes. The manufacturer suggested...

    Seeking articulate subwoofer advice

I'm a hack. This is what I've learned. You don't get to hear what the instrument actually sounds like from a post produced recording unless you played on the recording. Even then, you take the money and shut up. Those who trial and error sub positioning and using DSP as a means to ameliorate...

    Harbottle C18L2

Since I have a home in the same area code as the owners of the company that assembled your previous sub-bass speaker pay taxes in, well... Your used car analogy sounds like your ready for more than just some chrome bits, shiny paint and a crowned cyclops? No experience with Harbottle. There's...

    REL vs JL Audio subs

Thanks Elliot. This has some sensible adjustment parameters. Is there a microphone input for auto EQ/room and main speaker optimization processing software? Has the manual been made public?

Elliot G. I can't make out the name plate. Is Majestic the model or brand name? Avalon Acoustics cabinet faceting, still a popular slimming design solution. We still love the stature of our Eidolons.

    REL vs JL Audio subs

joey_v, neither have I. After hearing an in store dealer setup six pack system two months ago I left that store grateful that my two twelve year old Velodyne DD-12 Plus are still working fine. REL vs JL Audio subs

XV-1 Years ago two acquaintances brought their REL Studio III and JL Audio F113 A.R.O. to my home. REL are actually sub-bass speakers being -6dB at their manufactures rated low frequency response. The F113 hit its -3dB point below its manufactures rated response, a substantial difference. On...

    Velodyne is coming back....

Steve, thanks for posting. I've been a customer since the introduction of the ULD and Morgan Hill is a short drive from the coast. I've had my DD-Plus' for nine years. None of the subs mentioned above even comes close to the Frequency Response and Parameters Screen (Velodyne DD Plus User...

Is Velodyne going out of business?

A little late to this thread. FYI On the Velodyne Acoustics site I recently left a voice mail message on the sales number (669) 275-2217 interested in purchasing and a message was returned the next day. I spoke with a woman who had unopened stock for sale at roughly 44% of retail without...
