A link to a similar design (SMT) can be seen from Klangloft FB below
I asked SMT (I liked the design for my new listening room ) and they claim that the modules also work as broadband bass absorbers
Notice also the transparent wings infront of the skyline modules /Krelle...
Thank you Ron! Heres a (fast) clip on youtube where they Tune a varitune:
They call it the ”Robin Hood effect”
The thing is to put the varitunes where the pressure is in the room. In my old room I had alot in the 31.5 Hz region in the right corner back in the room. I had one V-6 standing and...
Yes its way bigger. It streches from listeningposition to s little bit behind the speakers. Sideways its 3 m and the distance between the speakers are about 3.3 m. The more the better :)
I would recomend that you get the first reflection from the speakers in the ceiling first. I use a mirror to point Out the first reflektion, with help Of a friend that moves the mirror to right position. ( when the mid shows in the mirror from listeningposition) That I would say its the most...
Hello Ron! In my old room (5x5 m) It was quite easy because I had big problems with 80,60 and 31.5 Hz due to the room measurements. Now in the new room (8x4.6 m) its less power in my problem areas but more Of them. IF you know the problem areas its no problem to adjust them. I use 8 varitunes4...
For me the flower-wings work perfectly for the first reflection on floor. In the right angel to the speaker the voices get so centrated and natural that it sounds like the reall thing :). I got help from my friend Gurkan (Cucumber) to get the voices just right!
Thank you for input! Interesting! I was a little concerned what would happen, but IM really pleased with the result even IF the roof is as low as it is. I have still not adjusted the varitunes. I need help from Matts on SMT to get that Right.
The roof is much lower now, only 2.07 meters. But I dont think about that when I sit and listen. It helps with the SMT bubbles and chrystalls stretching the roof soundwise.
I had little less power in the 40-50 Hz region with my main speakers. After some adjustments of helmholtz and taking down the subs crossover to 55 Hz it sounds amazing. The soundstage is huge! Regards Krelle.
