For those that are interested, here is the patent for the Acoustic Grove System products (AGS).
AGS Patent
This DIY link indicates that the Sylvain product uses a combination of 32, 45, and 60 mm diameter dowels (which is very close to the OD of 1" (33.4mm), 1.25" (42.16mm) and 2" (60.32mm)...
Check out the Benchmark AHB2 amps with regards to low measured distortion competition.
FWIW, the current crop of Purifi boards being sold are supposedly the pre-production hand-built boards, not the mass produced production boards so they maybe going for a premium price (early limited supply)...
Greg,
Thanks for the quick feedback. The scalable modularity is great.
Would a 13.5' x 25' x 8' room that opens in the back be considered a medium size room ?
TIA
I have a couple of questions on the dipole subs if you don't mind.
Where are the subs crossed over at and is there any criterion for selecting between SI-[200,300,400,600]s?
TIA
DJ,
Thanks for the info. Those are some stout monoblocks. Do you like them better than your former Solution?
Please excuse my ignorance on the next question.
How do monoblock Stereo DACs work? The D1's are balanced stereo DACS. I see you are only using 1 channel from each stereo...
You might want to ask "serengetiplains" on the AC thread about the headphone out. He is using his TotalDAC with headphones.

I would love to hear one as well, even the stock dual-dac.
I have wondered why the OEM TotalDAC's power lines are not twisted or braided. I see the modder has twisted his, but Vincent did not. Does this make a difference ???
The Intel 520 series is a great SSD. I built out 2 Asus Sabertooth/Z77 IvyBridge i7 systems last year. I tried a new OCZ Vertex 4 in the first build and was disappointed with the speed of the drive. The second build included an Intel 520 SSD which bested the OCZ Vertex 4.
I had one of their REVO drives and it was a screamer for a couple of weeks until it died (700+MB/s if I remember correctly). The RAID failed and didn't allow me to format/erase the drive. I had proprietary customer data on it so I was reluctant to send it in for an RMA (expensive 2-week...
You should report these emails to Audiogon Support <support@audiogon.com> and they will go after the website.
I have received 2 or 3 such emails since they have changed their website.
Interesting. I wonder what is going on.
This has not been my experience. I have tried PICO and DELL switching power supplies with no problem. Have also used monitors, plasma panels, optical players, pre/pros, DACs, STBs, amps (class A, A/B and IcePower), tuners, and preamps with no issues...
Why would switching power supplies and laptop chargers NOT work on balanced power? There is still a 120 volt differential between the hot and neutral legs ([-60 to +60] volts versus [0 to 120] volts).
Ideally, you want a double pull power switch which breaks both legs (hot and neutral), not...
That is a lot easier to answer than the question, "Why are you putting an electric double oven in here?" if you were wiring for a 7.5kVA or 10kVA version. The 5kVA was the largest that I could lug around by myself. I want to make sure I am not undersized for my application.
I have liked...
Hi Bruce,
What is considered a "small shelf unit" (e.g. 1kVA, 1.5kVA, 2kVA, 3kVA, 5kVA)?
Is a 5kVA shelf unit considered small for a home system?
Thanks,
Tim
Hi Gary,
Any starting points for your recommendations 3 & 4 above?
How high off the ground did you mount the sub?
How far in front of the 3.6's did you place the sub?
Thanks,
Tim
rtilden posted the following about his Romulus. Maybe he can add more.

Novice question, please excuse my ignorance. I am trying to understand the math of the circuit and the accuracy of the resisters as they pertain to bit-depth.
I made a spreadsheet to calculate the effective bit depth based on various R-2R definitions and it seems to correlate with the 6Moons...
