HDTracks "Every Picture Tells a Story" - Rod Stewart
Just downloaded the 24/96 version. Sounds very good. I own the 70's LP and the 1998 CD, and this sounds better - you can hear more detail and each instrument more clearly. On computeraudiophile.com it was stated that Bruce Brown did the digital version from the analogue master tapes. If so...- firedog

Can consumers do anything to end extreme volume compression of music?
Got a copy of Paul Simon's "So Beautiful or So What". Good album. Will never listen to it again. Why? Extreme volume compression. So much so that it literally gives me a headache after about 2 minutes of listening. Using Foobar Dynamic Range tool, I find it has a dynamic range...- firedog
