Stereophonic, Herve will not release any of the above pieces until they have been perfected... be prepared for a long wait on them. Did he mention an estimated launch date? He told me late '13/early...
Gotcha. I wonder if this 5% will sound good on any system though... (that isn't some massively colored syrupy mess :P).
Joe- are you getting this also on the 108B?
I was going to ask if he used Burmester in my last message but ended up leaving it out :P.
TAD + Burmester is a no-no, I ran this combo myself for over 6 months and so I can understand the comment...
Interesting, I find them to be slightly darker up top than I would like. Removing my 18NS preamp (going direct) and switching from Siltech to Nordost brought me closer but still not as sparkly and...
I would consider also VIVA AUDIO based on Alexis' posts here.
Stereophonic, welcome and thanks for sharing your impressions! Will need to look for an opportunity to listen to Classe on the CR1's. Make sure you check out this thread for further amp ideas with...
Adam, what are the lead contestants for your system (dac, amp, speakers) from all the gear you have been testing?
Wizard, do you know the cost to upgrade an existing medea+ with the DSD usb option? Thanks
You are talking about the black unit in between the speakers with the 3 rods sticking out? What does it do/how does it work?
Any idea how much the DSD USB upgrade will be?

I was always told bi-amping with different amps is a no-no due to driver integration/coherency issues at the crossover region in using amps with different characteristics (speed, slew rates, response...
Very interesting impressions, thanks for sharing Murray.
The only way to know is to listen to both under the same controlled conditions. Both speakers are at the absolute top of the food chain right now, but do note the differences in physical size and...
Not a problem at all, it just means more amp headroom. I drove them with a 450W Burmester 911mk3 amp for about 6 months to good effect (but much prefer the 160W DartZeel 108).
Let us know...
Thanks for sharing!
Wish I could camp out in this room for a weekend...

Hi Eli,
Funny cause I have also added a Queen G7 RCA to my system around a month ago. Really bested the Snow Lake G5 by a long shot, although I also went from XLR to RCA and this accounts for a SQ...
To be honest I am a bit surprised at some of the comments I am reading in this thread.
micro - you beat me to it ;)
In that case I am not surprised at your conclusion. The 108 on Wilson Sasha's in a large room would simply not work - constriction and harshness would be expected due to the 108 being driven past...
Rocco, my personal experience with these two amps gives me a different impression. I have lived with the 911mk3 for over a year and the DartZ 108 for 5 months now.
Yes, the 911 is slightly more...
Did you notice a difference with the SCNP upgrade? Did you have the Q1 before you had it upgraded?
Cause Andy Payor is happy to keep it a small operation, he does it for the love of audio rather than commercial gain.
As I stated I am personally not that enthusiastic about them after owning the...
