I managed to swap out all the 6H30 tubes with 6n6p tubes in my ref 6. Initial impressions was that the presentation was overall more musical. Vocals were more controlled and not as hurried if that is a way to put it. It is as if the singing were given a more controlled and meaty articulation...
I have made a comparison, GG balanced direct into my Dan Agostino Stereo amp vs a GG balanced into ARC Ref6 and Ref 5SE before my amp. I very much prefer to have a preamp in the chain. When I next send in my GG for any upgrade, I would remove the volume option.
I auditioned this with a view to buy. It did not work on my system.... Sucked the life out of music. It is quiet but everything gets muzzled a tad to the point cymbals or highs lose their sparkle.
I have my Dan D'agostino stereo amp plugged into a Torus AVR16 to good effect. Prior, I connected it into the Shunyata Triton / Typhon and there were no issues of slowness of lack of air.

Is there any benefit grounding both left and right imput or output vs grounding only one side in a particular component? I currently only ground one imput per component but have always wondered if grounding both may yield sonic benefits.
