The roads here (Scottish Borders) are unusually rough. If you go too firm you get punctures and broke wheels. I'm not sure where you are, but id hazard the roads are better than they are here. Us British seem uniquely incapable of building decent roads. And then maintaining them. Where i live...

Yes indeed. Adjustments notwithstanding, i still found them too stiff for rough roads. There's a limit to how soft you can go, otherwise you found yourself running out of road between the braking zone and turn- in as they fail to keep enough rubber in contact with the road. So even though the...

I use KW variant3 coilovers on mr2. Theyre good, but a little too stiff for the potholed rounds around here. I preferred the Aragostas i had on my skyline, more compliant and supple for road use. But if youre an occasional (or even regular) track user the KW's would be a better choice.

May i ask, which Lotus? I have a real soft spot for the v6 exige. When i was tearing my hair out earlier in this build, the car i considered signing my life away for was a low mileage dealer car, a sport410, iirc. More than any other brand, they are reputed to work on rough British b roads...

I'm not really one for show n shine, so i had to take some pics today. I'm particularly happy with the stance since we replaced the rims with forged WedSports with a better offset, and added 20mm spacers all round. You'll note the 17 inch rims, and high riding stance? The roads around here are...

Seems like you are running a conservative state of tune? Given the engineering you've done

You did the spannering yourself? Btw I've edited my post to flesh out the spec. Had to get a callback from my parts guy, having done three cars' worth of engine swaps with forged stroker kits, couldn't remember some of the evo details!

Now that bmw have embraced 4wd and turbocharging, they are seriously back on my radar. I mean, theyre almost as good as jap cars from the 90's:D

I saw underbonnet on one of them, and it was terrible. A proper rats nest, pleniums didn't align, ridiculously complicated wiring. I always throught v12 inna supra is a solution looking for a problem. I guess if you were pure jdm straight six was too humdrum? But the one i saw, that sure made it...

Single throttle body, mahoosive tubby, prolly good for a ten on street tyres? Very naughty. Supra just brilliant.:p I mean the enemy, obvs, being a skyline man. But truth be told, Supra had the better engine with the 2jz not sized down to a race requirment like the rb26 was 3 litre has to be...

Imagine what it would be like with a modern turbo. A G30 660 springs to mind...a gt30 sized blower making T78 numbers. The spool up would be astounding, and more progressive than the Trust, making for a smoother transition onto boost....deffo a bonus with front engine rwd. Though tbh the...
