    power conditioning

Oh, yeah! Accuphase makes excellent products. It just takes a little digging to see that they are using an additive/subtractive circuit rather than generating a completely new sine wave.

    power conditioning

I can't tell. They say, "waveform shaping technology" but that doesn't say a separately generated sine wave. It isn't clear to me. I understand, and share, your confusion on that point. However there is another quote, "The reference signal generator" which makes me think that there is a...

    power conditioning

I live in East Tennessee. There is a fair number of heavy manufacturing plants within the area, one that I used to work at as an EE. Such industry puts notches and spikes onto the line voltage. These, and harmonic distortions caused by uneven three phase loads cause all sorts of problems on...

    What's Spinning Tonight?

I have had 3 come through my listening room. One is in bad shape no matter what it couldn't be cleaned. I paid $29 for my copy and bought another for $11 for a buddy. Both of the last ones were pristine.

    Recent Concerts You've Enjoyed

This has been a little while. Jerry Douglas in a small venue, the Bijou here in Knoxville. A great concert. Tickets about $29 each and I could have tossed a piece of paper at him and landed it. The only problem was that it was too loud. No one needs to amplify Bluegrass in a theater with...

What turntables do you use? Pictures would be nice as well :-)

At 11 pages any reply is a moot point. But I have to say that the Teres Cocobola TT is an all time favorite.

The Star Trek lovers appreciation thread

I'm an original Trekkie. I watched it in first run. In the past 5 years I saw an original Star Trek that I had never seen before. I don't remember the episode name, remember I'm old. Spock had his brain removed and it was being used for Climate Control on a planet where the women (called...

    How technical are you?

Davey, Pretty technical here, I'm a retired EE. But I used to be an audio salesman before that. So I understand that many guys out there are not following. Looking at the above schematic, and I may have missed the tie point, the 0 point of the output transformer secondary is tied back...
