A few pointers for a beginner in tubes?

Thank you, facten That Line Audio amp is handsome, and muscular, and the consensus online is very positive. Not sure if it’s easily available here in Japan though. I’ll look into it a little more.

A few pointers for a beginner in tubes?

Thank you all very much for your advice, I feel like I’m learning something! I’m pretty set on going for a Japanese tube amp, like I did with the solid state Accuphase, given where I live. Clearly I should be looking for a push-pull with power, so I think my best option will be to ask the...

A few pointers for a beginner in tubes?

Lowrider75 Thanks so much for the response. As you can tell, I'm a total beginner. Perhaps these photos will give more of an idea. The Sun Audio guys sell a range of amps. The Audio Professor guy says he builds them order-made, so I assume that means to all kinds of specs.

A few pointers for a beginner in tubes?

Greetings. Occasional poster in the What's Best forum, but not for a while. I recently listened to a few tube amps from Sun Audio and Audio Professor, two small makers in Tokyo where I live. I was taken aback by the clarity on a range of speakers, from huge vintage Altecs to Harbeth floor...

    Ethernet cable question

CKKeung, thank you. I appreciate the suggestions for British-made streamers. I do plan to get a better one, but not for a year or two. I've spent quite a bit on an Accuphase amp and JBL L82 speakers since late last year. In fact, I bought the Denon streamer as a stopgap during New Year. The...

    Ethernet cable question

Thanks so much for the reply to this humble beginner. There are occasional issues when demand on the WiFi is high. But it turns out a hub (Belkin) to accept both the Ethernet and power cable wasn’t good: causes extreme jitter, or something, when the Mac screen energy saver kicks in. Going to...

    Ethernet cable question

Hello, Relatively new both here and with digital audio. I have a question about ethernet. I am using my MacBook to stream Amazon HD music via USB into an Accuphase DAC 50 / E 280 amp. I have been using Wi-Fi for the web connection, but want to try ethernet for stability and any possible SQ...

Advice on connecting to Accuphase integrated amp

Great to hear, thank you. Higher-end audio is pretty new to me, so your advice is really appreciated. The sound of my entry-level Accuphase leads me to believe your E-450 must sound incredible.

Advice on connecting to Accuphase integrated amp

Onepoint5, Thanks so much. I didn’t realise I could put an additional DAC into the Option 2 slot. I thought it was for phono etc. I live in Tokyo, and after a quick online search, older Accuphase DACs look readily available. I’ll go that route. I may also look into DSD for a few favourite...

Advice on connecting to Accuphase integrated amp

New here. Greetings! Advice on the following would be much appreciated. I’ve just upgraded from a Denon pma 1600ne to the accuphase e280 (with the optional Dac 50.) I have mainly been streamAmazon hd music from a Denon DNP 800 into the Denon amp via optical, and have also plugged my tv into...
